În temeiul art. 107 alin. (1) şi (3) din Constituţia României şi al art. 1 lit. a) din Legea nr. 134/1997 pentru abilitarea Guvernului de a emite ordonanţe,

Guvernul României emite următoarea ordonanţa:

Articolul UNIC

Articolul 60 din Legea nr. 136/1995 privind asigurările şi reasigurarile în România, publicată în Monitorul Oficial al României, Partea I, nr. 303 din 30 decembrie 1995, se completează cu alineatul 3, având următorul cuprins:

"Fondul de protejare a asiguraţilor în caz de faliment al societăţilor de asigurare, constituit potrivit legii, se păstrează în contul general al trezoreriei statului şi este purtător de dobânda. Dobânzile încasate constituie surse de venit ale Fondului de protejare a asiguraţilor şi au aceeaşi destinaţie de plată a despăgubirilor şi sumelor asigurate, în caz de faliment al societăţilor comerciale din domeniul asigurărilor."
